At ASO Safety Solutions, sustainability is more than just a goal – it is an integral part of our business activities. We focus on pioneering technologies, responsible use of resources and a safe working environment that protects people and the environment in equal measure. From solar power and energy-efficient production to e-mobility and packaging reduction – our measures consistently contribute to sustainable corporate development. Because we are convinced that only those who act consciously today will be able to shape tomorrow safely.
Solar energy
1428 square metres – that’s the total area of the solar modules installed on the roof of our main site in Lippstadt, Germany. The photovoltaic system supplies an average of 270,000 kWh of electricity per year, covering 40% of our annual energy consumption.
E-mobility
ASO Safety Solutions is actively involved in the promotion of e-mobility and thus makes an important contribution to sustainable corporate development. By expanding the company’s own charging infrastructure and providing electric vehicles, ASO is supporting the transition to more environmentally friendly mobility. These measures are part of our strategy of combining ecological responsibility with innovative technology.
Recyclability
Sustainability is an integral part of our product development – also for our SENTIR edge safety contact edges. That’s why we rely on environmentally friendly materials that are both functional and resource-saving.
Our safety contact edges are made of recyclable TPE (thermoplastic elastomer). TPE is a versatile plastic that combines the elastic properties of rubber with the processability of thermoplastics. It can be processed in an energy-efficient manner, is durable, resistant and can be melted down and reused at the end of its product life cycle.
Some of this recycled material flows directly back into our production. In this way, we minimise the use of new materials and actively contribute to reducing waste and CO₂ emissions.
Energy saving
For ASO Safety Solutions, sustainability also means using existing resources intelligently.
At our plant in Lippstadt, Germany, we rely on an efficient heat recovery system: the waste heat generated during production in our extrusion lines is used specifically to heat our buildings. This allows us to significantly reduce our energy consumption and save around 25 % on heating costs every year – another step towards energy-efficient company processes.
Packaging reduction
By optimising batch sizes, we significantly reduce packaging material during the manufacturing process. We are also focussing on recyclable materials and are increasingly using reusable transport boxes for shipping and internal logistics. These measures not only conserve resources, but also actively contribute to reducing our ecological footprint – for a more sustainable supply chain and responsible business practices.
Safety at work
Safety is a top priority at ASO Safety Solutions – it is not only a prerequisite for our daily operations, but also an expression of our responsibility towards our employees. We create safe working conditions and actively promote the physical and mental well-being of our team. At the same time, safety forms the core of our product portfolio: our solutions protect people and systems on gates, machines and automated guided vehicles (AGVs) and reliably prevent accidents and damage to property. Compliance with relevant safety standards is confirmed by independent test centres, and our engineers are continuously improving their qualifications, including through TÜV training courses in the area of functional safety.
