Our new product, LISENS scan, is a radar sensor for securing barriers and gates. Unlike laser sensors or cameras, the sensor is insensitive to weather and tampering. ‘The demand for invisible and robust solutions is growing,’ explains Nick Klause, Head of Development at ASO. ‘Today’s radar technology is precise and versatile enough to revolutionise security applications. It is cost-effective, wear-free and works reliably in rain or fog.’
The LISENS scan combines safety and convenience features. It can replace contact edges and light barriers in accordance with DIN EN 12453 and enables virtual induction loops. Type testing classifies it as an ‘E’ device, meaning that one sensor is sufficient to secure gates or barriers.
The system consists of a small sensor and an evaluation unit that can process up to six sensors. The sensor has a range of 13 metres, a horizontal opening angle of 100 degrees and monitors three-dimensional volumes. Comfort zones extend the angle to 120 degrees horizontally and 40 degrees vertically.
For safety and convenience features, the evaluation unit offers various outputs that can be flexibly configured, for example as 8.2 kOhm, relay or semiconductor outputs.
A web interface allows for easy setup via smartphone, tablet or laptop. Password-protected login is via Wi-Fi. Installers can flexibly define and test zones. The virtual induction loops are easy to configure.
The LISENS scan transmits at 60 GHz and detects even small objects with precision. It distinguishes vehicles from other objects, detects driving directions and enables targeted barrier control.
